16th UK Young Coastal Science and Engineering Conference 2022

The YCSEC provides a unique opportunity for early-career coastal scientists and engineers, working in academia (including PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers) and industry, to showcase their work and network with peers from a variety of disciplines concerned with the coastal environment. We welcome abstract submissions on a range of topics, including but not limited to: ecological engineering; management of flooding and erosion risks; climate change impacts and adaptation; marine renewables; modelling coastal processes; effects of pollution and others.
YCSEC provides a unique opportunity for leading young coastal scientists and engineers working in academia and industry, to present their work and network with their peers. The conference will have oral and poster presentations, keynote talks, and plenty of opportunities to network and socialise, including during the field trip along Bournemouth seafront guided by an engineer from the local council and the conference dinner on Monday evening. Who Should Attend?
This conference welcomes early-career researchers (MSc and PhD Students, postdoctoral researchers) and professionals from the public and private sectors working on or interested on coastal sciences and engineering. The conference attracts an interdisciplinary audience to promote research-practice connections.
Not all of us are ‘young’ and there is no age restriction for attendance at this conference.

Parking on campus is very limited and need to be pre-booked (please contact ycsec2020@gmail.com) – priority will be given to delegates with disabilities. There are frequent buses from Bournemouth town centre and the interchange to Talbot campus. Information and directions here.
